US-Russia are handing out much more than Ukraine

The U.S. and Russia agreed in Riyadh on 'joint projects in the Arctic,' a region believed to hold 13% of the world's undiscovered oil and 30% of its untapped natural gas reserves. The Arctic is geopolitically and economically significant, and U.S.-Russia cooperation aims to shape the future of the region, influencing international relations, maritime transportation, technological development, and security measures. Both countries are also interested in accelerating the exploration and extraction of critical raw materials such as copper, cobalt, and rare earth elements. Rare earth elements are crucial for modern technology, and the U.S. reliance on China has driven the search for alternative sources, while Russia is investing significantly in Arctic economic development and enhancing maritime capabilities.
